This incredible 23.64 carat Barion Cushion mixes the dichroic greens well and is even flashy enough for its size. It is eye clean except for a insignificant flaw in one corner. It is a great big beautiful gemstone from Afghanistan.
In every lot there has to be the biggest piece of rough. The rough that cut this large Barion cushion was by far the biggest piece of tourmaline in the lot I bought from Afghanistan. It was not only the larges piece of rough, but it was well shaped for a Barion cushion which made it a no brainer to move forward. The Barion cut mixed the bluer green axis and the yellower green axis together superbly and even though the 23.64 carat gemstone’s size demands flash performance, the cushion does not fail to perform brilliantly. This gemstone is beautiful and exceptional for its size, but not perfect. It has a insignificant flaw in one of the corners, that is impossible to see face up. I bring up the flaw only to be complete in my evaluation, since you could enjoy this cushion, that just barely fits in the round storage box, for the rest of your life without ever caring about that bit of imperfection in this extraordinary gemstone.
