This included blue green stone is still bright with a fine medium tone level. It is cut in a square Barion cut that gives the stone both depth and a nice flash play. It weighs 6.68 carats.
On a trip to the west coast, I was able to cherry pick a large lot of sea foam tourmaline from Afghanistan. I wanted to get something, but I could not afford much. The rough for this square Barion cushion stood out from the rest because it had the best color, but was also more included than the rest of the lot,. that was basically eye clean. My host told the dealer, whom he work with often, that he would take the included piece if I did not. Well I had already decided on taking the piece that became this gemstone. Color is the name of the game with this collection and this stone had it.
I have called this color sea foam, but I don’t see the two colors in this gemstone. I do see a very bright medium pastel blue green that has a wide assortment of very thin growth tubes and inclusion. It is probably another decision for color that was not very economic. This pretty gemstone with a story weighs 6.68 carats.
