This is the orange color I hoped to find in tourmaline. It is a standard round brilliant and is eye clean and a bright, flashy member of the droplets of color. It weighs .62 carats.
Posted stone, weight .62 carats.
Not a large standard round brilliant and more oranges have rolled threw, but this really flashy, bright clean orange was the first and still the best orange droplet of color. It weighs .77 carats.
Winner of the contest .77 carats.
This standard round brilliant is bright and eye clean. It is a true medium toned orange without brown problems. It weighs .87 carats and couldn't be kept from the droplets of color even if I want to.
Third contestant in the contest .87 carats.
There are three candidates for the title of the best all around orange in a smaller stone, from the droplets of color’s world of standard round brilliants. They are all wonderful little gems, with this one being the smallest of the three, yet it has the darkest medium tone level. Now this is not caused by being brown or having impurities in anyway. This is the orange color I hoped to find in tourmaline when I stared cutting again after a long hiatus. It weighs .62 carats and is really a sweet, juicy treat, but not the winner.
