The properties of this green gemstone are all good and would make a nice gemstone even in an emerald cut, but the shield cut lifts the green to a higher level. It weighs 1.31 carats.
Sometimes I think that movie critics should not review new movies because they have seen too much. Who really cares if the plot was ripped off a 1947 thriller and the lead actor is trying to act like Laurence Olivie in a 1939 classic. How good is the present movie, not all the past garbage.
I am afraid that I fall into the same trap as the movie critics. I have seen a great deal of pink in all the shapes that I cut and this may lead me to being less enthusiastic about the beauty of a new pink stone, even in a more unusual cut. While a green in anything other than an emerald cut can get my heart going. I am not saying that pink is any more common than green, but its moderate dichroism and more different shapes to the rough, gives the cutter more options with pinks than many greens.
Now the posted green is blessed with a fine shield cut. Its color is a medium green, in a medium tone that is eye clean. A pretty middle of the road green except the cut picks it up and makes it flash into a distinctive expression of beauty. One that many greens can only aspire to. It weighs 1.31 carats.
