This green emerald cut has great clarity, hue and saturation. It is clean and weighs 7.86 carats.
Now this is a fine emerald cut. It has all the right properties of clean color that is especial bright under incandescent/yellowish light, tone level and saturation. It also has normal angles on the ends.
During the last few years (as of 2013) it has been very difficult to get quality tourmaline out of Africa. I have therefor been getting more greens that are suitable for emerald cuts. It helps keep me cutting, but I have said to myself, that if I would have to cut the same thing over and over again without a color kick once in while, I would move on to a different creative effort. I would never abandon tourmaline completely and the pleasure I have with sharing my collection, but I would not expect that cutting tourmaline would keep me busy and interest very often. This fine gemstone weighs 7.86 carats and after all that I have said it certainly rewarded me for my effort.
