This deep round gemstone has a even color that shifts around the greenish side of mostly yellow. It is eye clean and weighs a hefty 3.53 carats for its girth, because of the modified step cut crown.
The transition between yellow and green is a variable one with people. Lighting also makes a major impact on whether the tourmaline looks greenish or not. Then I look at the box and check the stone away from the yellowish light, I realize that I am looking at a yellow to green transition tourmaline. I look at them differently than most sliders because you can almost tell the time of day it is, when you have sunshine, by how much green they have in their color. This goes beyond shifting color in response to a change from natural light to artificial light.
This round is cut with a deep modified step crown and even with that added depth, its tone level is so light that is should be in the IceT group Though it looks more like really watered down lemonade. If it sound like I am struggling with color, I am. Gemstones with very pale tone levels and complex colors can be difficult to place in the color wheel. Anyway this stone is bright, eye clean and has a nice weight of 3.53 carats.
