This darker toned red orange hue has a very rich presence.. It is still bright and flashy despite the inclusions. It weighs 4.53 carats and its hue appears to be stable.
This is a powerful stone . Its rich red orange flash swirls in the stone masking the moderate amount of inclusions. Time flashes by and I can not take my eyes off the color. It is not the saturated orange that I was seeking when I first renew my quest for color in tourmaline and it is not the sliders between red and orange either. This is the real deal and the collection is proud to have it, even if it started out as a lowly semi-facet grade piece of rough. I am very pleased with my effort in cutting a growing number of satisfying, moderately included, gemstone. I don’t know how economic the process is, but if the tourmaline market narrows down to only long ratio green crystals and moderately pale pink pieces, I may have to move on to another creative hobby. I am addicted to color even more than tourmaline. This well cut oval weighs 4.53 carats.
