You can easily see both the darker green and yellow green in this dichroic tourmaline. The gemstone is included, but is still very nice. It is cut in a standard round brilliant that weighs 2.48 carats.
This is the type of green tourmaline I love. With open ends in a rounded frosted pebble, I had more freedom to cut what I wanted and be rewarded, in this case, with a darker green and yellow green all bouncing around. I know that a standard round brilliant, or diamond cut of 57 facets I cut here is not too original, but it is a great cut. I am not into originality in cutting unless it has a definite purpose, like mixing colors or making a deeper stone. This green of medium tone is included, but it doesn’t take anything away from this stone. This stone is like some rubellites (Red)and indicolites(Blue) tourmaline and many other colors that just seem to come naturally with a bit of scatter. I will take my bits any day of the year for great color. This still bright and flashy round weighs 2.48 carats.
