I feel fortunate to have this gemstone even though it is a smaller standard round brilliant and included. The purple is great and with a moderate amount of flash and tone level, it caries the gemstone. It weighs 2.30 carats.
I usually put included before everything else when it is a definite factor in the gemstone, but with cuprian purple it is a different ball game. Purple ,like this stone has, requires copper if it comes from Mozambique, I think. And much, if not most, of the cuprian material from Mozambique is included, but still highly valued and beautiful.
About one half of the posted stones table is muted by fine inclusions that produce little detracting reflection, but reduces the flash from that section of the round. The stone depends on the rest of the round standard brilliants to really push out that purple power and it does along with a reasonable attempt from the included section. Still the quality of the whole gemstone,s crystal is below average. But here comes the the really important part. The gemstones level is moderate and the purple is outstanding. So with all this gemstones problems I am very happy to have it in the collection and it seems to weigh more than its 2.30 carats.
