This orange oval jumps with life when you play with it in the light, but browns out at rest. It is eye clean and with fine crystal. It likes yellowish light and doesn't mind being a Dravite. It weighs 2.75 carats.
This oval has a good size, fine crystal and is probably eye clean, but gets very little respect because its saturation (purity of color) is not high enough to scare away the brown. This problem is shared with many other oranges, sometimes it is a rich enough brown that the orange is pretty much left behind, but all of them are called Dravite. The way Dravite is used here, it is just a varietal name, not the species (a different chemical/mineral from Elbaite the most common tourmaline in gemstones.) This posted gemstone is probably an Elbaite, but I have no way to tell without laboratory work. No matter what species it is, this oval has a nice orange flash that gets browner or not with the light. It certainly likes my yellowish light. It weighs 2.75 carats.
