This beautiful medium toned, eye clean, droplet of color has a great blue green color. No faults in this standard round brilliant diminishes its beauty, at all. It weighs .80 carats.
This standard round brilliant is eye clean and with a great medium tone level. Its blue green color loves the yellowish lights, but it is still a delight in the gray overcast light of autumn’s waning days. I was comparing it with another nearly identical droplet of color in the fifty stone tray. The only real difference is the other gemstone has a significant amount of inclusions while this posted piece does not. Now the flawless round seemed less flashy then the included piece and I had to investigate. It turned out that the flawless round had sat in the foam for so long that the foam was inhibiting the flash. I saw this as soon as I turned the gemstone over and then put it back in its old spot. Then the two rounds had identical brightness. The moral of the story is, faceted stones are designed to be bright and reflective when there is air in contact with there pavilion facets. Foam that is tightly packed against the facets is not the same thing as air. This beautiful droplet of color weighs .80 carats.
