Looking at this delicate lilac oval whose color is a blessing from copper and comparing it to the exact same material in an oval half it size points up somethings about pastels. While darkly toned material can get too opaque as the stones get bigger, you can never have a pastel in tourmaline that is too big. Inclusion are quite noticeable in any size of pastel, but with a good enough color, I am very tolerant of inclusion as long as I have a good amount of transparency, that pastels provide. Finally the best light to observe any pastel is bright indirect natural light, like you get after the sun goes down and before it gets too dark or off freshly fallen snow.
