This emerald cut from Madagascar has a grayed lavender color. It is slightly included and with only acceptable crystal quality. This interesting gemstone weighs 1.06 carats and does not contain copper.
I love purples derived from copper and manganese in tourmaline, but I never wanted them to be my whole purple world. Therefor I have set sail many times on the quest for any purple with a challenge, are you out there, and only echos came back. Now I will admit that red with a purplish cast that can be amplified by some white lights to a predominance of purple are not rare and they are not really the purples that I have quested for. Of course I have picked some of them up along the way and I love them dearly, but it is not the same as a PURPLE.
The posted stone is from Madagascar and is a decent lavender, but with a grayed not well saturated hue. It crystal is average at best and with maybe a faint inclusion or two. It tone level is a nice medium level and certainly helps display the color, but nothing this gemstone does can make it really competitive with purple from copper and manganese. (I think that this lavender may be colored by iron and manganese). This very interesting and attractive emerald cut weighs 1.06 carats.
