This bright green emerald cut has 4 rows of facets on the pavilion. It is clean and has flashy ends. It weighs 3.55 carats.
When the choice and supply of tourmaline rough runs down, I usually have a choice. Either buy medium pinks or long ratio greens. With pinks you do not have a problem with closed ends, but they can be included. With long ratio greens I still do not like dark ends, but I put up with them. With pictures on the internet it is generally hard to know which problem will appear, flaws or closed ends, but when the supply is low, there is a good possibility that something is not up to the standard you hoped for. Fortunately this stone’s crystal had open ends. I would have split it, but that is wasteful and not absolutely needed in this case. I did put extra effort into this clear bright green emerald cut by cutting an extra round of facets (4) on the pavilion. I was rewarded with a bright green emerald cut with flashy ends that is clean and weights 3.55 carats.
