This oval appears to be eye clean and with a moderate amount of flash. Its pink peach color is dominated by a dark tone and I would call it a dravite. It weighs 2.98 carats.
I guess because of the complexity of generating orange in tourmaline, nature has produced many desaturated hybrids that are not particularly attractive. I have been told that titanium is the cause of many of the less than desirable shades with dark modifiers rather than iron, which many blame. I am certain the iron is essential for the world of beauty in tourmaline, but the roll of titanium is another less well understood world in my book.
The posted stone’s color is not a particularly pleasant mixture of pink/peach and something dark. I would call it a dravite, but even the brown tone is not really definite. It appears to be eye clean and its medium tone body produces a reasonable amount of flash. But the energy is not there. Still it is different and that helps make it interesting. It weighs 2.98 carats.
